Northern Liberties is a slightly more gentrified version of Fishtown, and has a party scene that’s in full swing. Northern Liberties is also fairly affordable for young professionals, especially if you can find some friendly roommates.
Sometimes called NoLibs, this hood is fast falling prey to a hipster influx. It boasts some of Philly's best restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries. Clubs, bars, and bowling offer funky nightlife festivities. And for those literary lovers with gothic streak, the house once inhabited by Edgar Allen Poe is located here.
Notable places include barcade, El Camino Real, Standard Tap, Dimitri's, Sugarhouse Casino, The Piazza and The Barbary.
